Our Goal With Woodhouse

Each one of us strives to reach our full potential and to achieve the best quality of life we can possibly have.  Nowhere is this goal more evident than with people who happen to have developmental, physical, or intellectual disabilities.  They face challenges every day that may seem easy for some of us, but are much more difficult for them.  Completing even the simplest task can become a great achievement for people with special needs.  But their biggest need of all may be to just live a normal life like everyone else…

Woodhouse is a residential facility and day treatment center designed to help people who happen to have Intellectual Disabilities coupled with extreme medical conditions and is named for it’s founder, Violet Woodhouse. Woodhouse, was opened in Pompano Beach, FL in 1983, and in 1994 the Truman Worden Training Center opened it’s doors in Pompano Beach. It is our goal to help all of our participants to reach their full potential and achieve the best quality of life possible. We do this with the most credentialed staff in Broward County who not only provide exceptional medical care, but also teach our consumers to be as independent as possible in their own care, never forgetting to treat our consumers with the utmost dignity.
